Water & Sewer Department

The Village of Poplar Grove owns and operates its own water and two Wastewater treatment facilities.  A 500,000 GDP Wastewater Treatment Plant built in 2006 is called the North Plant (NWWTP).  A second 250,000 GDP with a 1,000,000 GDP expansion to the treatment plant is called the South Plant (SWWTP).

The Village is responsible for treating its own water.  There are five active wells, and four pump houses.

Proper water pressure is maintained by a combination of gravity and elevated pedestal water-spheres (Towers).  Total water storage capacity is 450,000 gallons.  Multiple wells allow for the repair and maintenance to be performed without interrupting water service in the Village.

The Village has a computerized meter reading system which is completed by radio read.  The Village currently bills users on a monthly basis.

In 2017 the Village entered into a (5) year contract with TEST, Inc to provide testing and management of water/wastewater operations. They work closely with the Public Works Department to provide a seamless operation.
