New Construction Homes
- All permits must be submitted to Village Hall with a $25 application fee.
- Three sets of drawings must be submitted showing construction details of the project including framing, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and energy.
- Three copies of a site plan/plat of survey indicating the location of the project, dimensions, distances to all lot lines.
- Three copies of a grading plan indicating the elevation of the proposed top of foundation and all grade lines to confirm topography compliance. It is the responsibility of the applicant/contractor/owner to arrange all underground utilities to be located prior to any digging. Contact J.U.L.I.E at 811, 48 hours in advance of any digging.
- Right-of-Way Bond, contact Village Hall for further instructions - 815-765-3201.
Helpful Building Code Reminders
- Currently sheds 120 sq ft or less do not require a permit.
- Always call JULIE locate (811) before you plant, build, or dig anything.
- A pool permit will be required to install or erect any receptacle either permanent or temporary, and having a depth capable of being filled at least 24" of water and intended to be used for swimming. There may be other required permits such as fence or electrical depending on the project.
- Trees in the parkway or right of way are the responsibility of the Village. A permit is required if you wish to remove or plant trees in the parkway.
