Hen/Coop Application

When applying for your hen/coop application the following must be submitted at the same time:

* Drawing and/or picture of the location of the Coop including measurements from the property owners home and neighboring homes.

* Provide details of the type of Coop being installed. 

* Provide details on if a run will be attached to Coop. 

*Must state if electrical will be installed. If installing, provide location of where electrical will be ran and what type of materials will be used. 

This application is currently under a sunset pilot program for the next eighteen (18) months.

The Village will ONLY be accepting a maximum of fifteen (15) residential Hen/Coop Permits. 

All hen coops/runs SHALL NOT exceed 100 square feet in total, unless granted with a special use.

Inspections WILL be required to ensure compliance with the Village Code. Any additional inspections may be performed by our Code Enforcement Officer to confirm compliance with the Village Code without scheduling and appointment. 

If an HOA DOES NOT allow hens, the Village will deny the application. 

If you are renting you MUST obtain written approval from the property owner prior to applying.
